Audit log
Insight, then Audit log. A record of changes made in your workspace: who, what, when.

What it is for
Three questions, all of which come up eventually:
- "Who changed this customer's price list?"
- "When did this order's due date move?"
- "Did anyone actually cancel that, or did it never exist?"
The log answers them without anyone having to remember.
What is recorded elsewhere too
Some history lives on the record it belongs to, which is usually where you want it:
| History | Where |
|---|---|
| Stage moves on an order | The order's stage history, append-only, with who and when |
| Stock movements | The stock movement ledger, append-only |
| Artwork versions and approvals | The artwork record, including who approved and which version |
| Payments and refunds | The invoice |
| Activity across the shop | The dashboard activity feed and per-customer timelines |
The audit log is the catch-all for configuration and record changes that do not have their own timeline.
Access
Owner and manager only. It is under the same admin gate as billing, team, integrations and settings, because an audit log that everybody can see and nobody is accountable for is not much of a control.
Using it well
- Keep roles honest. An audit log where everyone is a manager tells you far less than one where the sales team are on the sales role.
- Check it before assuming a bug. A surprising number of "the software changed my price" reports are a colleague changing a price.
- Deactivate leavers rather than deleting them, so historical entries still name a person.
